Flu, Covid and RSV Vaccinations
Flu Vaccinations
Our flu vaccination programme for Autumn-Winter 2024/25 will be available to all patients aged 65 and over, and those aged under 65 with conditions including but not limited to asthma, COPD, diabetes, heart disease, liver disease, stroke and kidney disease. We also will be offering the vaccination to patients who are pregnant, and those with a chronic condition affecting their immune system.
- Appointments are now available to book for Saturday 5th October and Saturday 19th October.
- You are welcome to visit or call the Practice to book an appointment if you are eligible.
- Otherwise, all eligible patients will be invited by text message and / or phone call to book an appointment, from the beginning of September.
- Please support the surgery by having your annual flu vaccination administered here.
Covid Vaccinations
We will be offering covid vaccinations for the Autumn-Winter 2024/25. These will be offered to the same group of patients that are eligible for a Flu Vaccination. These may be available at the same appointment as your Flu Vaccination but we are currently awaiting confirmation of this.
Please note: different arrangements will be made to vaccinate those patients who are housebound or live in a residential or nursing home for administration of flu and / or covid vaccines.
RSV Vaccinations
RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) is a major cause of respiratory illness, particularly dangerous for infants and the elderly. The virus can lead to bronchiolitis and pneumonia, requiring hospitalisation and intensive care in severe cases.
- A new vaccination programme is a proactive measure to mitigate these risks and enhance public health.
- Our RSV vaccine programme will start from 1st September 2024 and includes a vaccine for pregnant women over 28 weeks to help protect their newborn babies, a routine programme for those over 75 and a one-off campaign for people aged 75 to 79.
- We will be contacting eligible patients by text and/or phone call to book in for this vaccination. This cannot be given at the same time as the Flu Vaccine.
