Shirehampton Group Practice
At Shirehampton Group Practice we aim to provide the best possible care for our patients. To ensure efficient and appropriate use of our resources, we have the following policy regarding home visits:
Requesting a Home Visit
- Home visit requests must be submitted via eConsult before 11:00 AM on the day of the request. (If you are unable to complete an eConsult, this can be done by calling reception on 0117 9162226.)
- Requests received after this time may be deferred to the next working day unless deemed urgent.
Triage Process
- All home visit requests will be triaged by a clinician to assess medical urgency and the most appropriate response.
- You may receive a telephone consultation first to determine whether a home visit is necessary or if alternative care options are suitable.
Who Will Attend the Visit
- Home visits may be carried out by either a GP or an Urgent Care Practitioner, depending on the nature of the medical need and availability.
- The assigned clinician will assess and provide appropriate treatment or refer you to additional services if needed.
Eligibility for Home Visits
Home visits are reserved for patients who are housebound due to serious illness or disability. If you are mobile and able to attend the surgery, we encourage you to do so, as this allows for more comprehensive care.
For further guidance, please contact reception.
